This pool is completely vegetated with larger trees (notice buttressed trunks, a growth adaptation of trees growing in very wet areas). Unfortunately even though this pool appears to be very suitable habitat, no vernal pool amphibians were observed at this site, a condition likely related to a very busy road adjacent to this area, and an abundance of trash strewn throughout the pool. Education about the importance of the vernal pool habitat is crucial to their survival.
