This photo shows several clusters of Jefferson Salamander eggs attached to branches underwater. While both Spotted and Jefferson salamander egg masses are surrounded by a gelatin matrix, the Jefferson gelatin is much less firm. Apart from the consistency of the mass, Jefferson egg masses are typically smaller, and more tubular in shape.
